Desired Skills & Experience
- Artistic Ability: You will need to make art. It has to be appealing to a wide audience, including the clients and the people they are trying to sell to. You will need to work on projects multiple times, based on suggestions from clients and management.
Computer Skills:
- Today’s graphic designer will need to work with various computer programs.
Software Knowledge:
Ø Adobe Photoshop
Ø Corel draw
Ø Adobe Illustrator
Ø In Design
Ø After Effect
- An exposure to video editing software’s will be an advantage though not essential
- Creativity: Graphic designers must always be thinking of new ideas, or new twists on old concepts, and be able to translate that into new design.
- Teamwork: You will be working with other designers, sales team leads and stake holders etc.
- Time-Management: You will be working on many projects, but you also have to know when to stop working on a precious piece of art.
Education:
- A bachelor’s degree in graphic design or a related field is usually required.
- However, those with a bachelor’s degree in another field may pursue technical training in graphic design to meet most hiring qualifications.
