As a company, our goal is to make local businesses successful. Content Editors work closely with writers to help refine content drafted for websites, blogs, and more. The ideal candidate for this role would be someone who understands the importance of quality content to drive results for small businesses, has a keen eye for detail, and can keep up with the changing landscape in content marketing. They must be comfortable switching gears quickly, working with tight deadlines, and learning new content strategies efficiently.
Responsibilities
- Help businesses establish themselves as local experts with well-researched, topical, and original written content.
- Proofread and edit long-form written materials such as blogs, and web copy.
- Conduct in-depth research to develop valuable content assets.
- Create and speak to feedback reports for each project handled by each writer to help improve their writing skills.
- Draft web copy or blogs to support the team whenever necessary.
- Deliver content in a timely manner while upholding high standards, even if this means tedious editing and rewrites.
- Ensure that custom-written content meets the specific objectives and appeals to audiences as dictated by the client.
- Maintain an ever-changing understanding of current content marketing trends and strategies.
Skills and Qualifications
- Strong writing and editing skills are a must
- Digital marketing experience is an asset
- Strong knowledge of SEO best practices and emerging trends
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Exceptional organizational skills and keen attention to detail
- Ability to work independently as well as collaborate within a team
- Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent experience
