About the company:
Planys Technologies Private Limited is an IIT Madras-incubated startup company that provides immersed robotic inspection and survey solutions using indigenously manufactured submersible and remotely operated underwater vehicles (ROV) and autonomous underwater vehicles (AUV). The founders of the company are recent IIT Madras alumni and faculty from mechanical engineering. We aim to cover the whole breadth of automated inspection solutions, starting from customized design and fabrication of robotic platforms to integrated sensing and diagnostics. We span across the domain of marine robotics, combining various inspection techniques and post-inspection analysis tools.
About the internship/job:
Selected intern’s day-to-day responsibilities include:
- Writing efficient code with respect to modern web technologies
- Creating web applications using standard HTML/CSS practices
- Working closely with web designers and programmers to produce the web application
- Constantly communicating with other colleagues in the business to develop and deploy their content and ensuring there is a clear establishment of what can be created within the stipulated timeframe
- Researching different software programs & maintaining software documentation
- Implementing contingency plans in case the website goes down
- Maintaining and expanding/enhancing the website once built
Recommended skills:
- • Experience in server-side frameworks such as Node.js/PHP
- • Knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, AJAX, Angular.js, Pug
- • Experience in database systems such as SQL or PostgreSQL
- • Good communication skills and creativity
- • Ability to work independently with required self-motivation
- • Preferred Knowledge of performance testing and tuning, REST API’s
- • Prior experience with module packages, unit testing
- Familiarity with software object-oriented design and implementation
- Excellent communication skills
- Familiarity with good coding/scripting practices and commonly used version control systems
