Job Responsibilities
- The role will be to design and develop the digital colleague experience for Barclays colleagues accessing HR Services whilst working across the full employee lifecycle to identify opportunities where we can impact the Employee Experience through design.
- You will take required business outcomes and design concepts and solutions that bring the digital colleague experience to life.
- You will be responsible for the delivery of design from concepts through to specifications to gain business agreement and partner with technical teams to deliver them.
- You will work with the wider EX team to provide inspiring leadership that embeds design and research as key enablers to the services HR provides.
- You will also be part of a wider group within HR that will focus on overall colleague experience design, not just the online experience.
- Constantly push for a customer-centric approach whilst delivering on required business objectives.
- Produce designs in line with HR ExCo vision and strategy.
- Work with the Head of UX to help define strategies to continually improve team practices, deliver increased value and promotion of the team beyond its current remit.
- Delivering designs for digital experiences, focused on user needs, for delivery within agreed quality, time and cost constraints.
- Full design lifecycle (research, sketches, wireframes, journeys, maps, personas, prototypes, etc.) to drive discussions, gain stakeholder approval and communicate development and testing requirements.
- Ensuring all outputs adhere to all relevant policies and standards e.g. channel, brand, design language, accessibility.
- Relevant years of experience of working in a similar UX role within a large organisation or agency.
- Be fully client focused at all times employing data to inform and validate designs decisions
- Be pragmatic with an ability to balance quality, cost and time in order to deliver business outcomes.
- Have succinct and efficient communication skills, including negotiation and influencing, with different audiences of both business and technical backgrounds, and a proven ability to achieve clear outcomes, consensus and resolve conflict.
- Ensure that best practices, trends and design paradigms are kept up-to-date in order to deliver fresh, relevant and industry leading designs.
- Have strong mentoring and coaching skills to support junior team members, and provide feedback and guidance where necessary
- Have excellent knowledge and understanding of UX and UI practices, and of utilisation of the core digital technologies e.g., including products such as the following, or similar to:
o Browsers: Google Chrome, Safari, Internet Explorer
o OS: Windows, iOS, Android
o Web Technologies: HTML, CSS, Bootstrap. Django, Angular, WordPress
o Design: Sketch, SuplimeText, Zeplin, InVision, Adobe Creative suite
o Programming Languages: Javascript, Python, PHP
o Databases: MongoDB, MS SQL/SQL Server, Oracle
o Other: BitBucket
- Be autonomous, proactive, adaptable and able to work both as part of a collaborative, multi-disciplined, agile team or alone as required.
